 Welcome to the 2010-2011 CMS Dragon School year.  The Art Department has lots of intriguing projects set up for students this year and we look forward to working with all the grades.


Middle School Art assists  students in understanding the visual qualities of the world around them, provides for the development of skills of various media, with emphasis on encouraging awareness and develops skills in various areas including drawing, color fundamentals and design principles. In addition, Art history is an integral part to the art course.

Our BIG EVENT of the year is the Silent Art Auction for St. Jude. Students, local artists, and parents create art work and handmade items to raise money for art therapy patients. Last year we raised $5800! The auction will be Tuesday, October 12th. We are accepting items and volunteers now. Just contact me at jpowers@scsk12.org if you have an item to donate, or would like to volunteer. We look forward to a Powerfully, Fantastic,  Supercool ART year at CMS!!!
